Here at Little Souls Animal Rescue and Sanctuary in Nottinghamshire uk  we are speaking up for cats with simple food intolerances — cats who are being misunderstood, missed labelled as incontinent, and wrongly put into nappies.

**Putting nappies on cats with food intolerances is causing them to suffer — physically, emotionally, and mentally. It has to stop.**
 
What’s the Problem with Nappies?

Nappies may seem like a quick fix, but they cause more harm than good, especially when the underlying issue is a dietary intolerance — not a toileting problem.

Here’s what nappies can do:


-**Skin damage, rashes & infections** – Moisture and bacteria trapped inside cause painful sores.

**Matting of fur** – Nappies cause severe knots and mats, hiding wounds underneath.
 **Stress & discomfort** – Cats are naturally clean. Being forced to wear nappies causes distress and emotional harm.

**Delayed or missed medical care** – Nappies mask symptoms instead of treating the root cause.

**Prolonged suffering** – Many of these cats can live normal, healthy lives with the right food and fast treatment. A nappy is not a solution — it’s a sign of misunderstanding.


The Risk of Feeding the Wrong Food

Feeding a cat with food intolerances the wrong food — even once — can cause a serious flare-up.

If not treated quickly, flare-ups can lead to:

Rapid weight loss
Dehydration
 Lethargy and distress
Long-term digestive damage
